The 25-year-old explosive all-rounder Hardik Pandya from Surat was just 17 when MS Dhoni lifted the World Cup for India in 2011. After 8 years, Pandya has a chance to match the success of that legendary team at the World Cup 2019 to be held in UK.

On Friday, the all-rounder tweeted an image of the night India won the World Cup after 28 years in 2011. The image shows how the 17-year-old Hardik Pandya then, celebrated India’s World Cup triumph.

Along with the old photo, he also tweeted a recent image with current teammates MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan and currently world’s best death bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

The tweet from Pandya read, “From cheering and celebrating India’s World Cup triumph in 2011 to representing #TeamIndia in World Cup 2019, it has been a dream come true #cwc19.

The World Cup 2019 is going to be the first time after 1992 that each team plays every other team once to decide the semi-finalists. Team India will take on New Zealand and Bangladesh in their two warm-up matches on 25th and 28th May respectively and then will begin their World Cup 2019 campaign against the Proteas on May 30 at Southampton.
