The hosts and current No.1 ODI team England announced their final 15 for the upcoming World Cup on Tuesday. The World Cup squad was chosen from the 17 players that played the recently concluded Pakistan series.

Everyone including skipper captain was unsure about the final 15 even though Barbados born youngster Jofra Archer who was fast tracked into international cricket was a certain selection in the squad. In the end, it was David Willey who had to make way for the 24-year-old.

At the launch of England’s World Cup kit, Liam Plunkett admitted that he was nervous and doubtful about his spot in the World Cup squad as he said, “You always have that slight doubt in your mind. Are they going to go down this route, that route? I feel like I deserve to be in the squad but you just don't know what they're thinking.

Plunkett has 85 scalps to his name in 53 matches at a decent average of 28 after the 2015 World Cup in which he did not feature. The right arm pacer is only behind leg-spinner Adil Rashid for England, and has mostly done the job for his side in the middle overs.

When asked about that, the 34-year-old said, “That's what I've done well, I've been successful at. And I don't think they'd want me to do anything different. You're always working on your game. I've worked a lot on my death bowling, you try and improve. I think every bowler needs to have the start, the middle and the end, be able to do it all.

England who just won a 5 ODI series 4-0 against Pakistan, start their World Cup 2019 campaign from May 30 as they take on South Africa at The Oval. It will be interesting to see how the squad performs.
