South African batsman David Miller, on Friday, 19th April, said he is currently enjoying his time with the fourth-ranked Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) side in the ongoing 12th edition of the IPL 2019 and feels good to contribute in team’s cause in the tournament so far.

The left-hander has been in the fine form with the willow in the ongoing IPL 2019, having scored 171 runs in 7 matches for KXIP and he wants to continue the same in the mega T20 event.

Miller further added that the franchise is not thinking much about playoffs and finals at the moment, as they are now just aiming to give their best in the coming matches in the cash-rich league.

With the World Cup 2019 knocking at the door, Miller will be hungry for runs after being picked up in South Africa’s squad for the upcoming showpiece event in England and he wants to make the most of the IPL 2019 opportunity to count as he hasn’t registered a big score in ODI cricket since last November.

The Proteas batsman further insisted that he will play all IPL 2019 matches for KXIP as Miller believes that getting matches in the big tournament before the World Cup 2019 will benefit him than stay out.

Miller told Sportstar on Friday, “I have really enjoyed my time so far this season. It is always good to contribute. There is so much cricket in a year. So, it is what it is. The IPL is a big tournament. And now we are playing the tournament before the World Cup, so it is good to stay in the game.”

He continued, “We have five games to go. Our goal is to play good cricket in the next five games and not think about the playoffs at the moment. We are not worrying about the finals right now.”

Miller is also satisfied with South Africa’s World Cup squad and delighted to get the opportunity to be part of the 50-over prestigious tournament starting from 30 May in England.

He signed off by saying, “We have played for many years together; it is a really nice squad and I am happy with it. We have to finish the IPL games before we get there.”
