CWC 2019: Indian Cricket Fraternity reacts to the Indian squad for ICC World Cup 2019

Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant misses out on World Cup berths.

Dinesh Karthik was picked as backup wicketkeeper over Rishabh Pant | GettyThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the Indian 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. The Indian team will play their first match against South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl Ground.

On April 15, BCCI revealed that the Virat Kohli-led Indian team will have players like Vijay Shankar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya appear in their first ever World Cup tournament. However, two of the biggest supposed names in Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant missed out on World Cup berths.

Apart from regular candidates like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammad Shami; KL Rahul and Dinesh Karthik were chosen as the backup opener and wicketkeeper respectively.

The Indian cricket fraternity was pretty surprised to see some of the names who were almost confirmed for the CWC 2019 missing out and some surprise choices for important slots. They took to Twitter and reacted to the announcement.
