Harbhajan also made a surprising inclusion in the pace attack for the tournament.

As World Cup 2019 is coming closer, veteran and ex-cricketers are coming up with their probable squads for India. Harbhajan Singh has also named his 15-man squad for the major event.

Harbhajan's squad has mostly expected names. But there are a couple of surprising picks. For the opening spot, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are preferred.

Singh is very much happy with Ambati Rayudu for the number four spot. Rayudu recently played a match-winning knock against New Zealand in a tough situation which gave a sense that he is going to play in the World Cup.

The 38-year-old has kept Ravindra Jadeja on stand-by for the tournament. In fact, he has picked Vijay Shankar over the all-rounder.

Apart from Vijay, the surprising addition is Umesh Yadav in the pace attack. Leaving additions aside, Rishabh Pant's exclusion isn't convincing for many in Harbhajan's squad.

Team India is looking to play Shankar as a batsman only despite his all-round ability.

Harbhajan Singh’s 15-man squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Dinesh Karthik, Umesh Yadav, and Vijay Shankar. Probable: Ravindra Jadeja
