Despite their issues, legendary spinner Shane Warne believes Australia can win this year's ICC Cricket World Cup in the United Kingdom. Warne also reckons that England and India start off the 10-team marquee ODI event as "hot favourites" to go all the way.

After a major dip in the final of 2017 Champions Trophy, India has clinched victories in 10 of their last 11 bilateral ODI series - a record that includes five overseas wins as well as an Asia Cup triumph in UAE.

While England has gone through an astonishing resurgence with their one-day cricket since the 2015 World Cup and currently hold the No.1 position in the ICC ODI rankings.

"As I’m putting my #worldcup squad together for my column, I really believe Aust can win it again," Warne posted over Twitter on Tuesday, February 5, "As we have the players for the conditions, match winners etc."

"I think England & India go in as hot favourites, but if the selectors play their part - then the Aussies can 100% win!"
