Usman Khan Shinwari looks optimistic about Pakistan chances in the upcoming 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, saying his national side has excellent team combination and they will try to win the title in England.

The 24-year-old, who is currently playing in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2018-19 for Melbourne Renegades, believes that Pakistan has excellent team combination in the white-ball cricket, which raises his hopes for the upcoming showpiece event in England and Wales.

Shinwari told reporters on Friday, “Pakistan has excellent Twenty20 and One-Day sides and the teams have an excellent balance of good batsmen, all-rounders, and fast-bowlers.”

While admitting that the World Cup is a tough tournament, Shinwari still believes that that the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy winners have the ability to beat anyone.

He signed off by saying, “Obviously, the upcoming World Cup will be a tough competition as it's being held in England and the top teams of the world will be competing for the trophy, so it will not be easy for any team. But I am convinced that with the group of players we have now, we have the ability to take on the toughest of teams and we will try and win the 2019 World Cup.”

The left-arm seam bowler is part of Pakistan’s ODI squad for their five-match One Day International series against South Africa, which will get underway in Port Elizabeth on Saturday (January 19).
