Asia Cup 2018: Final – IND v BAN – India looks for seventh Asia Cup crown as resurgent Bangladesh looks for their first title

India has come into the finals unbeaten, while Bangladesh defeated Pakistan to qualify.

Shikhar Dhawan and Mushfiqur Rahim will be the key batsmen for their respective sides | AFPThe Asia Cup 2018 has come to its finale which will see the undefeated Indian side taking on a resurgent Bangladesh side. Bangladesh is playing Asia Cup final for the third time, while India will be looking for their seventh title.

Bangladesh is coming into the finals with a thumping win over Pakistan in the do or die clash on 26th September. India, on the other hand, played a tied match with Afghanistan, who played out of their skins to keep a second string Indian side at bay.

However, Bangladesh, who are missing Tamim Iqbal and Shakib-Al-Hasan, their two stalwarts in the final; will be facing a full-strength Indian team in this match and though they have defeated Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the tournament, this Indian team is a different proposition altogether.

India will have to contend with Bangladesh’s ability to punch above their weight and with an in-form Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun; the Bangla tigers have shown that they know how to make a comeback.

India will depend on their openers Rohit and Dhawan to give them the bumper opening start and on Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar for early wickets, with the spinners doing the needful in the middle overs.

Whatever happens, the match should be a cracker with some excitement and Bangladesh looking to avenge their 2016 edition loss. India will hope for a record 7th title.
