Apart from the on-field rivalry, the off-field arguments also grab the headlines when India and Pakistan face off each other.

India-Pakistan cricket matches always run high on emotions given the history and the hostile political ties between the two countries. In such an atmosphere, the people of both the countries never lose a moment to celebrate victory over one another.

Apart from the on-field rivalry, the off-field arguments also grab the headlines when India and Pakistan face off each other. In one such incident, an Indian journalist tried to stir up Shoaib Akhtar before the Super Four clash on Sunday (September 23). It is safe to say that the news anchor’s line of questioning didn’t go well with the former Pakistan speedster.

After welcoming Shoaib on the show, the journo started rubbing India’s group-stage win over Pakistan in his face. However, the anchor got carried away a bit when she said that India defeating Pakistan might be a part of the Swacch Abhiyaan. Moreover, she asked Shoaib if Pakistan is ready to face another such defeat in the forthcoming match.

Akhtar replied to the question by asking the anchor to behave and maintain some dignity. He said it would be better if questions are asked on cricket-related topics and not on some swachhta mission or Abhiyaan. Such was the angst level of Shoaib that he told the anchor he is not some state-level cricketer and she should realise to whom the question is being asked.

Here’s the video:

Currently, the Men in Blue are enjoying the upper hand over the Men in Green. While Team India have thrashed Pakistan by eight wickets in the group-stage of the Asia Cup 2018, they humiliated the arch-rivals by nine wickets in the Super-Four round.

India will play the winner of Bangladesh versus Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2018 final on Friday (September 28).
