Asia Cup 2018: MS Dhoni's masterstroke to remove Shakib triggers clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians

Dhoni's plan had worked in favor of India, but the fans have something else to say.

MS Dhoni had plotted Shakib Al Hasan's wicket

MS Dhoni may have stepped down from the captaincy of all formats in 2017, but it still hasn't stopped him from asking the Indian skipper from making his desired moves.

We have seen it many times that Dhoni goes on to discuss whatever strikes his mind with the Virat Kohli. He did the same in Asia Cup 2018, but this time to the stand-in captain Rohit Sharma.

The move was to make a fielding placement change to make things tough for a batsman who was looking to score freely at one particular region, and no surprise, it paid off the next ball.

The batsman was Shakib Al Hasan and it was the game against Bangladesh on Friday when the incident happened.

What funny was the reactions from the official Twitter account of IPL teams, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. While Mumbai posted a tweet lauding Rohit for moving Dhawan to square leg, Chennai shared a picture about how Dhoni adviced the Indian skipper to do so.

The rivalry between these two IPL teams is very popular in India's biggest T20 league and even on social media.

After the wicket, the Twitter handle of Mumbai Indian wrote, "GONE! Smart captaincy from Rohit Sharma who moves Dhawan to square leg citing Shakib's intentions. Jadeja sticks to his plan and forces Shakib to sweep, who holes out to Dhawan. Brilliant from India!"

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings shared a picture, "Reading batsman's brain from behind the stumps! Thala Mastermind! #WhistlePodu #INDvBAN"
