Having been there playing the helping hand in the nets before the start of the Asia Cup, right-arm fast bowler Siddharth Kaul has now found himself drafted into the actual squad with an injury to fast bowler Shardul Thakur. 

He alongside fast bowlers Avesh Khan, M Prasidh Krishna and spinners Shahbaz Nadeem and Mayank Markande were called by the team management to bowl in the nets before the Asia Cup but now, Kaul could very well be playing in one of the games in the ongoing event.

With untimely injuries to Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur, the All-India senior selection committee confirmed Kaul as well as Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja as the three replacements. 

Kaul, who began his International career for India earlier in the year against Ireland and England on the back of some very fine domestic and Indian Premier League performances, is enjoying his time as life finally rewards him for the hardwork and he talked about his recent experience and the learnings of being part of the Indian team. 

"I have modeled my bowling on Bhuvneshwar. It was great to have him, Dhoni and Rohit (Sharma) during nets. Those jittery times got over in England itself and I was really keen on learning about the conditions in Dubai. Dhoni is an encyclopedia of cricket." said Kaul before travelling back to the United Arab Emirates and added, "I was just following his instructions and applying them in the nets. One has to stay hydrated in the hot conditions in order to bowl to the best of ability. I hope to make use of that small stint in the nets during the upcoming matches,"

"The wickets in Dubai are like India, although the heat makes it a bit challenging, especially for the bowlers. The quick bowlers won’t get enough from such conditions. The key to success would be bowling wicket to wicket," he concluded.
