Asia Cup 2018: Hardik Pandya sends a heartfelt message to his fans

Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the 2018 Asia Cup due to his back injury.

Hardik Pandya went down with a back injury and was ruled out of the tournament | Screen Grab India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2018 after hurting his lower back while bowling in the match against Pakistan on September 19, 2018.

Pandya was bowling his 5th over of his spell in the 18th over of the Pakistani innings. After bowling the 5th delivery of the over, he went down in his follow through clutching his lower back and was seen in immense pain. Indian fielders surrounded him as the physio made his way to the ground. Even the Pakistani batsmen were concerned about Pandya’s well being.

However, he was unable to get up and had to be stretchered out of the ground and was sent to the hospital for scans. BCCI announced that Pandya had suffered acute lower back injury and was ruled out of the tournament. They also announced that BCCI had replaced him with Rajasthan’s Deepak Chahar.

Meanwhile, Pandya has put up a heartfelt message to his fans on his Twitter saying, “All your love and support is going to make me come back stronger! Will keep you guys up to date on my recovery. Thank you.”
