Sri Lanka's Asia Cup 2018 outing came to an end on Monday after Afghanistan knocked five-time champions out of the tournament with a 91-run win in Abu Dhabi.
When Sri Lanka was losing wickets in the middle, fans on Twitter were gradually approaching towards former Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold's Twitter profile.
They roasted the cricketer-turned-commentator who had taken digs at Indian cricket team when they lost the Test series against England 4-1.
In their last league game, Sri Lanka was chasing a target of 250 after Afghanistan were all out for 249 in 50 over. Rahmat Shah top-scored for them with a 72 off 90 balls on a slow track. For Sri Lanka, it was Thisara Perera who bagged a fifer.
In reply, Sri Lanka was bundled out for 158 in 41.2 overs.
As soon as Afghanistan clinched their first victory against the men from Emerald Island, Twitterati jumped into Russel Arnold's mention and pulled his leg. Here is how they reacted:
