Asia Cup 2018: Cricket expert Atul Wassan casts doubt over Sri Lanka’s loss to Afghanistan

Sri Lanka lost to Bangladesh by 137 runs and to Afghanistan by 91 runs.

Sri Lanka crashed out of the Asia Cup 2018 with losses to Bangladesh and Afghanistan | GettySri Lanka crashed out of the Asia Cup 2018 after losing in humiliating fashion to Afghanistan by 91 runs. Afghanistan had batted first and thanks to Rahmat Shah’s 72 scored 249 in their 50 overs.

Sri Lanka struggled to form a partnership which could guide the team towards the total. Upul Tharanga top scored with 36, but no other batsman could pass Thisara Perera’s 28 runs. Every bowler except Aftab Alam picked two wickets each with Rashid Khan picking the best of 26/2.

With this loss, Sri Lanka was eliminated from the tournament as they had previously lost to Bangladesh and didn’t make it into the super four stages.

Their elimination from the tournament has raised quite a few eyebrows on Sri Lankan performance and one such person is former India player and cricket expert Atul Wassan.

Wassan tweeted that ACU should open an investigation into Sri Lanka’s performance in the tournament and tweeted, “Stewards enquiry maybe .. some heavy wallets heading black to Lanka ..

When a fellow expert tweeted that, “I don’t think Afghanistan beating Sri Lanka is an upset in this day and age. It is just a shock to our system because it reads wrong to us

To which Wassan again replied, “Have you ever seen a team play so poorly .. the body language and choice of shots is proof enough for ACU to have a look .
