Pakistan’s new pace sensation, Usman Shinwari made the most of his skills against Hong Kong, as the left-arm fast-bowler led his team to a massive 8-wicket win in their 2018 Asia Cup campaign opener in Dubai on Sunday (September 19).

The 24-year-old took three important Hong Kong wickets to bowl out them at merely 116 runs, which Pakistan chased down in just 23.4 overs to open their account in the six-nation One Day International tournament on the positive note before taking on arch-rival India on September 19 here.

Following his stunning show with the ball against Hong Kong, Usman is excited to play in the much anticipated and high-pressure game against the defending champions India, saying he wants to derail the No. 1 Indian batting line-up to win the match for his country in the ongoing 2018 Asia Cup.

However, the pacer is well aware of the fact that the stakes are very high, but he is also looking forward to take the advantage of familiar Dubai conditions against India and make the most of it.

As per reports in Hindustan Times, Usman stated, “India is the No.1 team, they have excellent players. Definitely when Pakistan and India have a match, not just the players but also the crowd gets excited. It’s a big game and hopefully, we’ve prepared well enough.”

He signed off by saying, “Players that do well in India-Pakistan games command a lot of respect. I want to perform well in the game. I got three wickets today, hopefully against India I can get five. Pakistan is used to the pitches in Dubai, so this is an advantage for us and we know a little bit about the pitch and ground.”
