The Asia cup 2018, the 14th edition of the tournament will begin from September 15 with Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh in the opening encounter.
However, all eyes will be on September 19, when the two giants of the Asia, India, and Pakistan will clash for the first time since the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy finals. Pakistan had emerged victorious in that encounter in which Virat Kohli led the Indian team.
However in Asia Cup 2018, Virat has been rested and the Indian team will play under the tutelage of Rohit Sharma, who led the team to the Nidahas Trophy win in Sri Lanka.
The Indian team reached Dubai and was seen practicing in the nets and having other drills. Meanwhile, Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik ventured towards the Indian side and met up with Captain Rohit Sharma and shared a handshake with wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni.
A video shared by ANI shows the two veterans of the game talking about something as Dhoni is seated on the coolers and Malik standing next to him.
India will start their campaign against Hong Kong on September 18 and will play Pakistan the next day.
