After the gruelling England tour, Team India’s focus now shift towards the 14th edition of Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in UAE from September 15.

Rohit Sharma will lead India in the forthcoming Asia Cup in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli. Considering the draining UK trip, the BCCI had rested Kohli from the high-octane tournament.

On Tuesday (September 11), Rohit posted a video on Instagram and informed about his preparation.

“Kit up, pick your bat and focus on the next mission. #AsiaCup,” he wrote in the caption.

In the little clip, Sharma can be seen working on his defensive technique. Soon after sharing the video, the comment section was filled with best wishes for the stand-in India captain. However, one reply that grabbed everyone’s attention was of the India wrist spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal.

“Defence nahi karne ka bhau udaane ka hai @rohitsharma45 bhaiya,” Chahal wrote in the comment.

It is learnt that Indian players will leave for Dubai to feature in the Asia Cup in two batches. While the likes of Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Akshar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed will depart on September 13, the remaining six players – Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur – will leave on September 16.
