Asia Cup 2018: Sri Lanka announce squad for the tournament

Sri Lanka recall pace veteran in their squad for the Asia Cup.

The 14th Edition of Asia Cup 2018 will take place at the Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai in UAE. The tournament commences from September 15 and ends on September 28.

The tournament sees the regular teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh in addition to new Test nation Afghanistan and a qualifying team from the qualifiers. India have already announced their team for the tournament, which will be led by Rohit Sharma in absence of Virat Kohli, who has been rested.

Sri Lanka too announced their squad and surprised the fans with inclusion of Lasith Malinga, who is coming back after a gap of a year. Angelo Mathews will lead the team which features Dinesh Chandimal, Kusal Perera and Kusal Mendis, along with veteran opener Upul Tharanga.

All-rounders Thisara Perera and Dasun Shanaka were also included with spinners Akila Dananjaya and Dilruwan Perera. Fast bowling duties will be shared by Kasun Rajitha, Suranga Lakmal, Dushmantha Chameera and Lasith Malinga
