Asia Cup 2018: BCCI announces the date to name Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup

India and Pakistan will clash in the Asia Cup 2018 on September 19.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors will announce Indian squad for the ACC Asia Cup 2018 on September 1 in Mumbai. The tournament which is set to be played in UAE this year from September 15-28.

The senior selection committee will have the chairman of selectors MSK Prasad, Sarandeep Singh and Devang Gandhi. The meeting will be held inside the corridors of the BCCI headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium to pick the squad.

Currently, the qualifiers for Asia Cup is going on and UAE, Singapore, Oman, Nepal, Malaysia and Hong Kong are fighting for one vacant spot in the group A.

The group A has two of the arch-rivals India and Pakistan. Their encounter on September 19 is much awaited.

The competition is scheduled to start from September 15 with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka clashing in the opening match.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) started their Asia Cup Qualifier campaign with a huge 215-run win over Singapore at UKM-YSD Cricket Oval, Bangi, Malaysia on Wednesday (August 29). 

Defending champions India will start their Asia Cup 2018 campaign from September 18. They don't have any gap between the two games and will have to face Pakistan on the day after their first game. The schedule was ridiculous, but BCCI decided to continue with it.
