Indian batsman Manish Pandey has made a perfect comeback to form with the willow just before the upcoming Asia Cup 2018, which is slated to be held this September in the UAE.

The 28-year-old is currently playing for India B in the ongoing Quadrangular Series at home featuring Australia A and South Africa A. He ended the tournament with 306 runs including two fifties and one hundred in his four outings in the One-Day series.

Manish led India B to the trophy against Australia A on 29 August,  was adjudged Man of the Match for his stunning display with the bat, hitting 73 off 54 balls (8 fours and 3 six), to help his side to thrash the Kangaroos by 9-wickets in the final at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

He was also part of India squad for the Ireland series but was ignored for the entire England tour.  Lately, he has made a fantastic return to his form as the National Selectors are yet to pick the squad for the Asia Cup. His performance is expected to get the attention of the selectors who are searching for an answer to India's number four conundrum in ODIs. 

As per reports in Sport Star Live, Pandey said, “If you have runs under your belt before a selection, it obviously gives you confidence. I feel quite good about the way I played. I had clear plans in my head and in the four matches I pretty much executed all of those. So very happy.”

He further added, “Batting at No.4 gave me a lot of time. When I was 19 and 20 I didn’t know how to bat in a one-day game. I thought it was very similar to T20 where I used to bat a lot. Now after playing for so many years, I know how to bat through the middle overs, rotate the strike and take chances when I have to.”

Manish signed off by saying, “And captaincy gave me the extra sense of responsibility. To take care of the team and play No.4 is like being the backbone of the side. I love to play that role and happy that I could do that this well.”
