The Asia Cup 2018 will present an opportunity to Imam - ul - Haq to play against India which has been along cherished dream for him ever since he made his debut for Pakistan. Imam being the nephew of former Pakistan skipper Inzamam- ul - Haq also had to bear extra pressure whenever he takes the field.

The Asia Cup clash against India will be his very first game against the side and he said he is very excited about it. “It was my dream to play against India. I had thought a lot about it, in fact, started playing cricket to play against India and do something special, all players think the same,” Imam said while talking to Zainab Abbas on the show Voice of Cricket.

He also kept his view on Virat Kohli and Team India. "India is a top team and the man who sets standards for them is Virat Kohli. If you keep him aside, the Indian team will be reduced to 50%,” Imam further said.

Talking about the contest in the Asia Cup, the 22-year-old added, “It will be fun, it’s gonna be a pressure match, but let’s hope for the best.  We want to play positive and aggressive cricket against India.”

Imam concluded by saying that the coach and the support staff of the Pakistan team works very hard with all the players and getting them prepared for the matches in the talk show.

“The coach and team management have been trying to make all the players understand that they need to play their game irrespective of the opposition. We have to follow just one strategy, deliver what we are good at. Mickey Arthur tries to convey it to the youngsters that as bowlers you have to bowl well and batsmen have to bat and field to the best of their abilities" Imam signed off saying.
