AUS vs ENG 2018: India, Australia are challenging tours for England, says Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler –England’s One Day Vice-Captain, on Thursday, claimed that the “exciting” tour of Australia and India are the two biggest challenges for The Lions ahead of their five-match ODI series in the Kangaroos soil.

The ODI series will go underway with its first match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday (14 January) against Australia.

He further said that the series opener at The MCG, where the Australians became the world champions three years ago, will be a great Test for the England side.

According to ecb.co.uk, Jos Buttler said, “Coming here and going away to India are the two biggest challenges for us in the last few years. Massive challenges for us and exciting ones. The Australians became the world champions here at the MCG three years ago, so it will be a great test for us as a side.”

The swashbuckling top-order batsman went on to add further that England won’t be trying to change their approach too much and will try stick with their own game in the Australia series. Apart from ODI series in Australia, England will also play a T20I tri-series involving New Zealand.

He concluded by saying, “We won’t be trying to change much with the way we play. You got to be smart and adaptable to the conditions and try to play the type of cricket we normally play.”
