Australia named Cameron White as Chris Lynn's  replacement for the upcoming ODI series against England. Lynn who was included in the ODI squad was then replaced due to a calf strain which he survived in the ongoing BBL season.

The 34-year-old last played for Australia in 2015 but will replace the injured Chris Lynn following spectacular limited-overs form in the Big Bash League, where he has scored 285 runs at an average of 142.5 for the Melbourne Renegades. This ends speculations about a possible Glenn Maxwell return in the ODI squad.

White has a long international career since debuting in 2005 having played four Tests, 88 ODIs and 47 Twenty20 Internationals.

Trevor Hohns, Australia's chief selector, said White deserved his selection. "Cameron's in very good form, as his figures demonstrate. He's playing very well," he said. "He's one of the leading run-scorers in this season's BBL, he's experienced, he's a very smart cricketer and he's a good fielder. He ticks all the boxes for what we need at this stage."

"There's a vacancy (in the ODI team). I haven't heard anything," he had said. "I honestly don't know. You'd have to ask the selectors, I couldn't tell you. I feel pretty much the same as I've felt for the last couple of years in white-ball cricket. I'm batting with a pretty clear mind and watching the ball and playing it on its merits: said White when asked about his return in the team.

Australia who won the Ashes series 4-0 will expect to give a headstart to the series with a win. England on the other end will try to end their losing streak so far Down Under with an impressive ODI show up.
