Usman Khawaja from Australia who has hammered his sixth international test century against England in the fifth test with two days still left in the match has helped his team to gain a strong position after scoring 171 runs on the day 3.

In a media interaction, Usman Khawaja has urged that you don't get to celebrate test tons unless you are Steven Smith. Australia has already won the Ashes 2017-18 Ashes with an invulnerable 3-0 lead and they are looking to close out the series 4-0 after last week’s fourth test in Melbourne was drawn.

At the end of third days play, Australia is well settled on 479/4 with both the Marsh brothers crossed their half-centuries whereas it was a broken day for England seamers which only took two wickets in the whole day.

Usman Khawaja struck for 171 runs with 18 fours and a six on his maiden test hundred in Ashes went three runs short of achieving his highest score in test matches.

“You don’t get to celebrate Test centuries too much unless you’re Steve Smith. You’ve got to enjoy them when they come,” Khawaja said.

In the previous matches, Khawaja did not perform well and hence was massively criticised by the former players for his batting and form in the Ashes test series.

“It’s disappointing,” Khawaja said of the criticism.”When I am scoring runs, I’m elegant and when I’m not scoring runs I’m lazy. Can’t seem to win, when things aren’t going well. I’ve had that throughout my career. It’s disappointing to hear but it’s something I have dealt with throughout my career.”

England's debutant Mason Crane got Usman Khawaja's wicket on 171 with Bairstow ending his tenure on the pitch. He also showed plenty of heart to keep plugging away without much luck until dismissing Khawaja.
