Australia routed England by an innings and 41 runs in the third Test to win the Ashes 2017/18 3-0, with 2 more Tests to go. Josh Hazlewood picked a five wicket haul to remove the remaining English batsmen with ease, as Steve Smith won his first Ashes as captain.

However, on the other end, Cricket Australia confirmed that their premier strike bowler Mitchell Starc has suffered a bruise left heel. Starc did bowl on the fifth day, but couldn’t pick any more wickets apart from James Vince’s.

27 year old Starc will be checked after the match and Jackson Bird, who was the reserve fast bowler in the squad, will stay with the squad instead of playing for Sydney Sixers in the KFC Big Bash opening match tomorrow.

"Not too bad, a bit sore," Australia coach Darren Lehmann, when asked about Starc’s injury. "We’ll just have to wait for the end of the game and assess him.

"I thought he bowled unbelievable well last night, got the ball reversing to get that wicket of Vince, so we’ll see how he goes," said Lehmann.

Starc gained praise from all quarters for his brilliant delivery to dismiss James Vince, which even got left arm pace legend Wasim Akram excited.
