England have their backs against the wall in the second Ashes Test in Adelaide. They are still trailing by over 300 runs in the third day of the Test match.

Meanwhile, Australia have kept the England batsmen in check and have already picked up the big wicket of Alastair Cook in the third morning. Joe Root too was dismissed cheaply for 9 failing to bring any stability of resistance in the batting order or the scoreboard.

Seeing the sorry state of the England batting line up, Shane Warne and Kevin Pietersen was quick to tweet their thoughts on the result of the match. Both the former cricketers predicted that day 3 of the ongoing Test match at Adelaide can very well be the deciding factor in the Test match. Its important for England to bat as long as they can and reach as close to the Australian first innings total. Day 3 too didn't start in the best of ways for the visitors as they lost Cook, Root and Vince within the first hour.

Former Australian legend Shane Warne wrote on Twitter, Today is the biggest day of the #Ashes series. If England performs well & post a big first innings score then they’re back in the series. The players will believe and so will the fans in the team. If Australia roll them & have a big lead, there’s only one thing to happen - whitewash.

Pietersen was also quick to share his thought.

This sorry situation of the England batting line-up was what prompted the two former legendary cricketers to reach a unified conclusion regarding the Test match.
