The morale-boosting win at Adelaide in the second ODI against South Africa will definitely help the home team get back on its feet and relax looking forward to the stern challenges ahead in the summer, said right-arm fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.

Satisfied to have finally seen an Australian win, after a fantastic defence of the modest 231 in the second ODI against South Africa at Adelaide on Friday, November 9, Hazlewood, who contributed two crucial wickets and returned with match figures of 2/42, said, "It (the 7-run victory) will probably relax the guys a little bit, if anything," before expressing, "It's a little bit of relief, I guess. It's a good step moving forward to get one on the board... (but) we know one win doesn't make a summer.

"It makes tomorrow (Sunday, November 11, the final ODI at Hobart) a pretty important game for us to try and win the series," he emphasized.

Chasing only 232, Proteas failed to get going with the bat and finished seven short at the end of the 50 overs, managing only 224-9.

On the unusually low turn-out despite the weekend, Hazlewood felt, "Whenever we play one-day cricket before Test cricket in the summer, the crowds don't tend to come as much as they do in January and February when we're playing one-dayers. Maybe everyone is holding out for the Test match."

Having made a return from injury recently, Hazlewood affirmed that each and every member of the side is extremely determined to take Australia forward amidst the current crisis.

"We're obviously aware of it, but I don't think it's a distraction by any means," he said. "We have been doing the right things at training and are really focused on the process and (have) put results a little bit out of our mind," and signed off.
