South Africa crushed Australia in the first ODI of the series by 6 wickets. The Man of the Match was a returning Dale Steyn who picked two wickets as Australia was bowled out for 152.
It was a right call by Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis who won the toss and chose to bowl first and unleashed his fearsome pace bowling attack comprising of Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, along with Steyn.
Steyn picked two wickets of Travis Head and D’Arcy Short in three balls and the catch to dismiss Short was one of the best one will ever see in cricket. It was a brilliant two-handed effort from Faf, as he was airborne while taking the catch.
Steyn pitched the ball up to Short and the batsman came hard at it as he looked to play it through covers, but only managed to find a thick edge and a flying Faf did the rest.
