Rishabh Pant named emerging cricketer of the year 2018 by ICC

International Cricket Council(ICC) on Tuesday, January 22 rewarded Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant for his magnificent performances across all formats by naming him their emerging player of the year 2018. 

The youngster will be presented with the honour during world governing body’s upcoming annual awards. 

Voting academy consisting of well-renowned broadcasters and commentators picked Pant as the most ideal candidate to receive the prestigious award. 

 

Rishabh became the first Indian gloveman to score a hundred in the SENA countries when he amassed a fantastic ton versus England at the Oval and followed it up with another outstanding one against Australia in Sydney. 

The 21-year also showcased his talent behind the stumps by equalling the record for number of catches(11) taken in a Test during the Adelaide Test of just concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy. 

Rishabh played his part in India's historic maiden Test series triumph down under.
