AUS v IND 2018-19: Warner could get into this Australian batting line-up as a right-hander, says Vaughan

Warner batted with a right-hander's grip and smashed 14 runs during a Bangladesh Premier League match.

Australian batsmen are not having the best of time in the ongoing home ODI series against India. Barring Shaun Marsh, who amassed the scores of 54 and 131 in the first two ODIs, none of the Aussie batters seemed to have matched the standard of modern day cricket.

Seeing their batting woes, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has said that even a right-handed David Warner would make it to this Australian batting line-up.

"David Warner would get in this top six batting right-handed," Vaughan was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.

Vaughan’s comments came in the wake of Warne’s awe-inspiring batting as a right-hander in one of the Bangladesh Premier League matches.

Playing for Sylhet Sixers against Rangpur Riders, Warner took guard as a right-handed batsman after batting with his usual left-handed stance for 32 balls. Warner smashed 14 runs while batting as a right-hander, including a huge six off Chris Gayle's bowling.

Vaughan also pointed out that Marsh remains the only certainty from the current Australian top six for their World Cup 2019 campaign.

"Problems for Australia. I see from this XI that played today, there's only one absolute guarantee for that World Cup and that's Shaun Marsh," Vaughan opined.

"The other ten, Peter Handscomb has played nicely, two fifties in three games, he's looked like he's doing his chances lots of good. But from this XI, there's only Shaun Marsh that is definitely on that plane to England," he further added.
