Team India equalized in the 3-match ODI series against Australia 1-1 after a brilliant chase of 298 runs in the second ODI at the Adelaide Oval.
Australia had put on a formidable total thanks to a ton by Shaun Marsh and a late onslaught by Glenn Maxwell. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of Indian bowlers with 4/45 and Shami picked three wickets.
The Indian team had to chase down a good total in the first ODI as well, but they failed to do so as they lost early wickets. This time, the openers took care of not repeating the same mistake again and built a foundation for others to build on.
Virat Kohli took over from Rohit and Dhawan and scored his 39th ODI ton in a brilliant example of chasing a big total. He was helped by MS Dhoni, who returned to his vintage self, making 55* and equalizing the totals by a six off the first ball of the 50th over. Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, and Ambati Rayudu played their parts in the chase.
But the cricket fraternity on Twitter was in awe of the chase masters Kohli and Dhoni taking Indian team to a series-levelling win. They showered their praises and applauded the duo in tweets.
