AUS v IND 2018-19: First ODI - Statistical Highlights

All the major stats and facts from the first ODI between Australia and India in Sydney.

Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni

Australia beat India by 34 runs in the first of three ODI match at Sydney and took a 1-0 lead in this series with two matches to go.

On a sunny morning Australia opted to bat first and started off poorly and lost captain Finch for just 6 runs but following batsmen Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb all chipped in and scored fifties each and in the end, Marcus Stoinis' cameo helped Australia to post a good total of 288/5.

In reply, India had a horrible start and lost three wickets for just 4 runs and were at sea but Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni's 137 runs partnership brought India back into the game but after MS Dhoni's dismissal Rohit didn't get enough support from the other end and eventually India fell short of the target by 34 runs. Rohit Sharma played an outstanding knock of 133 runs and for Australia Jhye Richardson took 4 wickets.
