Cricketer Rohit Sharma has joined the Indian team after the birth of his daughter Samaira. He had flown back to India to see the newborn. This is the reason he missed out in the last Test match and wasn't part of the celebration with Team India after a historic Test series win by 2-1.
The limited-overs vice-captain, Rohit returned to Australia after being out for the last Test as India is set to play ODI series against the hosts.
Sharma, the newly become father received a gift for his daughter. An Indian journalist presented him a toy for Samaira. Rohit was there for a press conference and at the end of the presser the journo handed over the gift to Rohit.
The limited-overs team vice-captain called it a "sweet" gesture and thanked the journalist.
Rohit last played an ODI match against the West Indies in which he scored an unbeaten 63 as India chased down a total of 104 within 15 overs.
