Cheteshwar Pujara’s masterful innings in the ongoing Sydney Test against Australia lasted a marathon 373 balls. Apart from a drop chance on 192 by Usman Khawaja, Pujara’s knock was near flawless. He finished on 193 and walked out to a standing ovation from the capacity SCG crowd in what was a summer to remember for India’s eminent No.3 down under.

Pujara has been hailed for his patience during the innings by legendary names like Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, Kevin Pietersen, Kumar Sangakkara among others. He has continuously frustrated the Australian bowlers with solid defence and staunch approach. The opposition bowlers haven’t been able to suppress him throughout the series.

No wonder, Pujara’s Indian teammates are now coming up with the unique nicknames for him. While some call him the ‘White Walker’ from Game of Thrones for his no-nonsense approach, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Saturday came up with a hilarious meme to define Pujara’s patience.

Ashwin posted an Instagram Story with Pujara’s face attached to the Statue of Unity calling him the ‘Statue of Patience’

"@cheteshwar _pujara looks like your satyagraha has had a nationwide response," Ashwin captioned the picture.

Here’s the story:

Pujara is the top-scorer in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 521 runs at an average of 74.72, including three centuries. He has batted for a record 1258 deliveries in the four-match series which is the most by an Indian batsman in a Test series down under, surpassing Rahul Dravid's previous record of 1203 balls in the 2003-04 series in Australia.
