Before the start of the second day, Indian captain Virat Kohli helped his teammate Rishabh Pant in his batting drills. Kohli gave the youngster throwdowns in the nets.
Virat might have been unluckily dismissed on the first day after scoring just 23 runs but Pant didn't disappoint the fans.
Coming out to bat at number 7, Pant smashed 159* runs and helped India cross 600 runs in the first innings. Kohli declared the innings at 622/7 after Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed by Nathan Lyon on 81.
Pant was looking comfortable in his innings and as usual, the strike rate was very high. He scored with a strike rate of 84.12 in the 189 balls he faced.
