AUS v IND 2018-19: 4th Test, Day 1- Pujara hits third ton in series, Agarwal makes 77 as India ends day on 303/4

It is a must-win game for Australia in order to avoid their first home series loss against India. India meanwhile has retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by gaining a 2-1 lead in the 4-match series.

India won the toss and Kohli chose to bat first. India threw up some surprises and went in with two spinners in Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, with Shami and Bumrah being the two fast bowlers. Australia, on the other hand, brought in Marnus Labuschagne, dropping Aaron Finch from the team. Mitchell Marsh too made way for Peter Handscomb.

KL Rahul’s woes continued, as he was dismissed by Hazlewood, caught by Marsh for 9 runs. Mayank Agarwal meanwhile, continued on, with support from Pujara. The duo added 116 runs for the second wicket before Lyon got Agarwal out for 77 with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Virat Kohli looked good for his 23 and also completed 19,000 runs in international cricket, and was dismissed by Hazlewood, caught by Paine. Rahane followed suit, caught by Paine off Starc for the score of 18.

Hanuma Vihari joined Pujara, who soldiered on in his style and brought up his third century of the series off 199 balls. This was Pujara's 18th Test hundred for India.

Vihari played valiantly and defended wonderfully and remained unbeaten on 39. Vihari and Pujara ended the day with a partnership of 75 unbeaten runs.

Cheteshwar Pujara remained unbeaten on 130 and India finished the day on 303/4.
