A stunning burst of six wickets by Jasprit Bumrah saw India dismiss Australia for 151 on day three of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.

From an overnight 8/0, the hosts collapsed sensationally to hand India a massive lead of 292 runs. Australian batsmen had no answer to Bumrah’s brilliance as the Indian pacer ripped through the top, middle and lower order to record his career-best figures in red-ball cricket.

Marcus Harris (22), Shaun Marsh (19), Travis Head (20), Tim Paine (22), Nathan Lyon (0) and Josh Hazlewood (0) were Bumrah’s victims in Australia’s first innings. Bumrah’s bowling figures of 6/33 in 15.5 overs also made him the first bowler from the subcontinent to take a five-for or more in South Africa, England and Australia in the same year.

Here’s the video of Bumrah's six-wicket haul:

With 17 wickets to his name, Bumrah is currently the joint highest-wicket in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon. The Indian speedster had also bowled fiercely and with discipline in both Adelaide and Perth.

At the end of day three, India took a lead of 346 runs. The visitors were struggling at 54/5 in 27 overs in their second innings but still had an upper hand in the match. While Pat Cummins claimed four big wickets in Hanuma Vihari (13), Cheteshwar Pujara (0), Virat Kohli (0) and Ajinkya Rahane (1), Josh Hazlewood dismissed Rohit Sharma for five.
