AUS v IND 2018-19: Sanjay Manjrekar doubts Virat Kohli's call to declare; gets roasted

Manjrekar wanted Virat Kohli to let Rohit Sharma bat for more overs.

Rohit Sharma scored 63* in the first innings | GETTYIndia is in a good position in the third Test after scoring 443/7 in the first innings. The innings was declared half an hour before second day's play because skipper Virat Kohli wanted to test the tired Australian batters. But his move to declare wasn't welcomed by everyone.

Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne believed India should have added 25-30 runs more. While Sanjay Manjrekar suggested India should have batted for 70-80 runs more.

"Strange declaration from India. With Rohit there, India could have got 50/75 runs or even more runs, runs which would be harder to get batting second. Made sense in getting them now," he wrote.

Fans believed Manjrekar was irked after Rohit Sharma couldn't get to complete his hundred and was declared when he was on 63*. They lashed out at the former India cricketer and took a jibe for his bias.
