Discarded Indian batsman KL Rahul expressed happiness for Indian opener Mayank Agarwal who made his Test debut in India's third Test against Australia. He started off well, in fact, Mayank became the second highest scorer on debut for India overseas and highest in Australia.

Agarwal's 76 took him over Dattu Phadkar, who scored 51 on his Test debut at the SCG in 1947.

"Seeing my Best Friend getting his cap and debuting for the Country makes me so Happy and Proud today. ???????? Upwards and Onwards, my brother, you’re just getting started Monkus. ???????? @mayankcricket  #295 ????????," wrote Rahul on Twitter.

KL Rahul was dropped from the playing XI after failing again and again in last two Test matches. Not only Rahul, his batting partner Murali Vijay too struggled to cope up with the Australian conditions and was dismissed cheaply.

India opened their innings with Hanuma Vihari and Mayank in Melbourne Cricket Ground. Vihari scored 8 runs but fought for 66 balls in the middle. India lost their wicket in 19th over of the game.

Rahul and Mayank play for same stateside, Karnataka. They both started their first-class cricket for Karnataka in 2010. Interestingly, they both have made their IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore and currently playing for Kings XI Punjab.
