Marcus Harris escaped a genuine scare when he got hit very awkwardly by a Jasprit Bumrah bouncer on Day 3 of the ongoing second Australia versus India Test in Perth, in what came across as a moment that highlighted the importance of helmets in cricket.

Harris tried to evade the short ball but wore the Kookaburra flush on the side of his helmet, while batting earlier on in his innings.

The velocity on the ball knocked the Australian batsman to the ground, as he looked dangerously rattled before staff brought him out a new lid and assessed the overall damage.

Concussion has been one of the most alarming injuries that modern-day batsman seems to be perennially vulnerable to.

Glad be noted, that Marcus Harris survived it. Fox Sports, who have been broadasting the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series down under, revealed how scary the whole incident was.

While there was no damage that took place to the outside part of it, an alarming crack was visible inside the protective wear which thankfully are getting better these days especially in wake of inapt defensive techniques.

The last bit seems to rarely not be the case with Marcus Harris, who continues to impress everyone around with his exploits in the debut series.

The left-hander struck an invaluable half-century on Day 1 here, which got followed by another resolute and defiant effort in the second innings.
