The Day 3 of the ongoing Perth Test was an enthralling one for India, as the touring side managed to get a respectable lead of 175 runs in the first innings of the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy thanks to Captain Virat Kohli’s sensational century here on Sunday (December 16).
On Sunday, the dashing right-hander cracked his 25th Test hundred while brilliantly playing at the pacy and bouncy new Perth wicket and become the first ever cricketer in the world to score a hundred in South Africa, England and Australia in the same year. It was also Kohli’s sixth hundred in Australia.
The 30-year-old has earned a lot of applause for his amazing batting in Perth from cricket fraternity, as he finally returned back to his best with the willow and the Australians will be certainly wary of the threat Kohli poses during the ongoing four-match Test Series Down Under here.
Following his incredible Perth knock, Kevin Pietersen went on his official Twitter handle to laud Captain Kohli for his splendid century, while claiming that his sensational form with the bat made every other batsman look like a school kid in front of him.
Pietersen’s post reads, “ANOTHER 100 for Virat Kohli today. He’s making every single one of us that batted before him in international cricket, look like schoolboys! So proud of you, dude!”
Meanwhile, it was not the first time when English cricket legend and cricket pundit went in awe for Kohli’s mind-blowing batting show, as he earlier was labeled the right-hander as the ‘best in this era’.
The commentator has been watching Kohli since the early days of his career, as the 38-year-old was his skipper in the second season of the Indian Premier League and played a couple of matches with the batting star for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL.
