Indian openers, Murali Vijay and K L Rahul, have once again become the talk of the town on social media. This time, the duo have been slammed by Twitterati for their miserable performance in the first innings of the second Test at Optus Stadium, Perth.  

Riding on Ishant Sharma’s four-wicket haul, India bundled out Australia for 326 runs in the morning session on Day 2. However, India dealt with an early blow as Mitchell Starc (2/1) removed Murali Vijay for a duck before lunch.

After Vijay’s duck, Indians fans hoped that Rahul will play a solid knock. But the struggling right-hander departed for 2 after he got knocked over by a perfect yorker from Josh Hazlewood, leaving the visitors on 8/2.

Subsequently, disappointed Indian fans took to Twitter to vent their anger. There were no shortage of epic memes while roasting the opening duo.

It is worth mentioning here that Vijay and Rahul have been in horrible form for sometimes now. While Vijay had scored 11 and 18 across the two innings in the first Test at the Adelaide Oval, Rahul had amassed 2 and 44.
