Indian speedster Umesh Yadav ruined the frustrating stand of Australia’s Tim Paine and Pat Cummins by castling the all-rounder with a beauty of a delivery on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test in Perth.
However, it was a much-needed wicket for India as the duo added 69 runs before Yadav bowled out Cummins, who was even more irritating faced 66 balls for 19 runs, but Yadav’s celebration post wicket was a muted one, as the right-arm pacer was seen expressing his anguish and frustration, which showed India’s foiling on conceding runs in the Day 2 in Perth.
It was the last ball of the 105th over when Yadav bowled an absolute peach of a delivery, which was on a goodish length, left Cummins clueless before going through his defense to disturb the timbers.
Eventually, Cummins was miserably caught on the crease – with feet rooted playing for an in-swinger, but that just held it’s line after pitching, and the ball beat the outside edge of the right-hander’s bat to dislodge the off-stump. It was a dream delivery for Umesh and result for a fast bowler to hit the top of the stump and Umesh managed just that.
Meanwhile, Paine and Cummins took the score past the 300-run mark before the fast-bowler's wicket, while Australia lost last four wickets for just 16 runs in four overs, as India bowled out the hosts for 326 in the first innings of the second Test at Perth.
Ishant Sharma recorded the best bowling figures for India in the first innings, claiming four wickets for 41, while Jasprit Bumrah, Yadav and Hanuma Vihari picked up two wickets each.
