The BCCI and the team management have announced India's 13-man squad for the much anticipated Second Test against Australia at Perth starting Friday, December 14.

Having assessed the surface as well as the conditions one day prior to the start of the all-important game, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli along with head coach Ravi Shastri have made a few flexible and some enforced changes to their most probable playing XI for this Test.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma have both been ruled out due to an abdominal strain and a back injury, respectively.

Ashwin sent down 86.5 overs in Adelaide, which is the most he has bowled in a single Test and it included a less rewarding 52.5 over-effort in the second innings. The off-spinner picked up six wickets and conceded runs at less than two runs an over.

Rohit, on the other hand, played a crucial 37-run knock in the first innings.

India has brought in left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav into their line-up, as replacements, in case the team feel the need to play five proper bowlers or only one of them depending on how much grass is shaved off from the surface.

It is more likely, though, that batsman Hanuma Vihari walks directly into the playing eleven considering it's a green top at the new Perth Stadium.

While rest of the squad retains a similar outlook from the one that was announced before and played in the first Test, as young opening batsman Prithvi Shaw continues to recover from his ankle injury, while wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav and second wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel continue to remain on the sidelines.

India clinched the Adelaide Test by a margin of 31 runs and lead the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, 1-0.
