AUS v IND 2018-19: Sachin Tendulkar baffled with Australia's "defensive mindset" with the bat in Adelaide

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar expressed strong reservations with Australia's extremely "defensive mindset" while batting during their first innings in response to India's 250 all out, in Adelaide.

"#TeamIndia should make the most of this situation and not lose their grip,” Tendulkar, who played a large portion of that astonishing career against an Australian side at its peak, wrote on his official account handle over the social media network Twitter, "The defensive mindset by the Australian batsmen at home is something I’ve not seen before in my experience."

"@ashwinravi99 has been very effective and has played a role to help the team be on top, for now," he added.

The great man's comments came in wake of India's fantastic bowling performance in defence of a modest score from their batting unit, where the immensely skillful Ravichandran Ashwin led the way with three wickets in the morning session and along with Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami, kept an astounding leash on the run-rate.

But what genuinely stood out was the alarming lack of intent with the likes of Shaun Marsh, Usman Khawaja, Marcus Harris, and Peter Handscomb went about their business allowing India to find their way back in the game.

While Harris scored 26 off 57, Khawana crawled to 28 off 125. Following their departures, the pair of Peter Handscomb and Travis Head began the repair work and Australia reached the three figures in 47.1 overs.
