I'll always remember great partnerships with Smith for the rest of my life, says Marsh.

Australian Test vice-captain Mitchell Marsh has reminisced about his partnerships with then skipper Steve Smith ahead of the series opener of the four-match Test Series against India on December 6 in Adelaide.

The all-rounder said his partnerships in the past with Smith –the most remarkable being his maiden Test century with the then captain, who scored a double ton in that game against England in Perth last year, will always remember the rest of his life, saying these are a source of positivity for him.

The 27-year-old right-hander is also hoping to get a few more partnerships with the Australia talismanic batsman in the future, as Smith will return to the international arena in March 2019 after serving ball-tempering ban along with David Warner and Camron Bancroft.

Marsh told reporters on Tuesday (December 4) ahead of Adelaide Test, “I constantly go back to that and watch my innings. I think it's important for me to go back to that, I feel like I was batting really well last summer, I feel like I'm batting really well at the moment.”

Commenting on his equation with Smith, Marsh said, “Smudger (Smith) became one of my best mates in cricket over the last couple of years. We certainly like batting together. He doesn't give you much out in the middle. We just had that connection and some great partnerships I'll always remember the rest of my life. I feel very lucky to have done that. Hopefully, we've got a few more in us in the future.”

the all-rounder signed off by saying, “When you're batting at the other end with Steve Smith it takes your mind off the fact you're out there. You can switch off and watch him do his work - pretty awesome to watch. We both don't really communicate much out in the middle. Keep going, watch the ball, swing hard. That's about it. It sounds stupid but that's really all it is when you're batting together.”
