AUS v IND 2018-19: Virat Kohli on the verge of breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record in Australia

Virat Kohli is on the verge of achieving a significant milestone when he will take the field in the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under, starting on December 6 at The Adelaide Oval.

The Indian captain has five Test centuries under his belt against Australia in Australia and he is just two tons short of surpassing batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar’s record.  Tendulkar has six Test hundreds to his name on the Australian soil, most by an Indian batsman.

While Tendulkar has scored 1809 runs in 20 Tests at an astonishing average of 53.20 Down Under, Kohli has 992 runs in 8 Tests at 62.

Besides, former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has five Test centuries to his name against Australia in Australia. With four centuries, former India batsman VVS Laxman is fourth on the list.
