Identifying it as a wonderful opportunity to win the series, Australia have drafted premier fast bowler Mitchell Starc in the squad for final T20I at Sydney on Sunday, November 25.

Earlier having been left out of the T20I tussle versus South Africa and India, Starc featured for New South Wales in the ongoing Sheffield Shield to fine tune his preparation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But, leading the three-match T20I battle with India 1-0, Australia are desperate to ensure they don't let the visitors finish the series level at the SCG.

Hence the ankle injury to Billy Stanlake, whom Starc replaces, has only helped the Aaron Finch led hosts' case and objective.

“(Starc has) got so much experience in the limited-overs games as well and we've seen how dominant he can be when he gets it right with the ball,” Finch said on the development, “We'll have a look at the wicket this afternoon and discuss the side but coming straight off a Shield game with an eye on the first Test, his preparations will be really good.”

Starc last played a T20I in Colombo during Australia's 2016 tour of Sri Lanka and at home, that further dates back to February, 2014 at Sydney against England.
