Australia cricketer Cameron Green received a surprising welcome by India wicket-keeper KL Rahul in his debut match. When the 21-year-old walked out to bat in the third ODI on Wednesday, Rahul asked him if he's nervous or not.

Green wasn't expecting Rahul to be so nice to him. The India cricketer also gave him confidence and said 'go well, youngster'. Green scored 21 runs in his debut match.

“I was actually taken aback by how nice KL Rahul was behind the stumps,” Green said at the post-match interview.

“I think he asked me if I was nervous or not and I just replied saying ‘yeah obviously a little bit nervous’ and he just said ‘go well, youngster’. I thought it would have been the opposite. I think Virat Kohli was trying to be pretty loud at the time.”

“I was a bit taken aback by how nice that was. I’ll remember that forever,” he said.

The youngster was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja in the 31st over. Green said he has never faced such quality spin bowling.

“They’re class bowlers, especially their spinners,” he said. “I haven’t faced quality like that. Jadeja is just a beautiful bowler who knows exactly what he’s trying to do. Trying to spin a couple away from you and dart one back in. It was class bowling,” he added.
