Former Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson, on Sunday, described fast bowler Mitchell Starc as a “freak”, adding he loves watching him bowl as well as likes his aggression on the field.

In the ongoing Ashes series 2017-18 against England, Australian spearhead heaMitchell Starc has been phenomenal with the ball so far and is the leading wicket-taker with 19 victims.

Although, the 27-year old pacer is not satisfied with his accolades, rating himself at 5-or-6, revealed Johnson, who predicting the Pacer will become more tough bowler to face any batsman across the world in the near future with his fierce yorker and dazzling pace attack.

Speaking to cricket.com.au in Perth, Johnson told reporters, “He’s a freak. I love watching him bowl. He backs his skills. That fierce yorker he bowls is unplayable and for (him) to come out and say he’s a five or six out of 10 that’s pretty incredible. I feel like he can definitely get better too. I’m starting to enjoy this combination (with Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins) as well. There’s definitely that potential there.”

The 36-year old also described Starc as “leader of the attack”, adding, “He’s the leader of the attack and I just love watching how he flows in. I like when he gets a bit aggro. I like when he’s got a bit of a ‘tache as well. I think it makes him look more angry.”

He further added that Starc has started to understand his Test cricket now which makes him a dangerous bowler to face. Johnson concluded by saying, “He’s just starting to really understand his Test game. I’m just noticing that a lot more now, the consistency… He’s a tall man, he’s imposing, he bowls fast and swings the ball late. Those things are really hard to face.”
